Before Rosewood Row, I held many jobs through-out college to earn my degree and raise my son. (I worked on the square, I served tables, and I cleaned houses- but I honestly loved it). No one knew me at school really I was just going to class, going to work, and then picking my son up from daycare, day in day out. I know many Mommas can relate. Upon finishing my Master of Accountancy I began my career at Deloitte, and hopped to new opportunities with a Fortune 500 company. After a total of 5 years of forensic accounting, audits, and accounting roles I knew the only way I wanted to live my life was through my entrepreneurial goals- because it enabled me to be the present mother I wanted to be. Rosewood Row was started to inspire, encourage, and empower others to use their creative talents, specifically mothers who may have forgotten their gifts in the shuffle of life. You can create beautiful things, create a beautiful life, and find happiness in knowing your creation brings others immense joy.

SO- I find it extremely entertaining when someone comes along in my life who ironically wants to discourage, un-inspire, and disempower my abilities. One of my mentors, mentioned a great metaphor for me to think on when this happens.

They said “do you know the horses Secretariat? I said, “Of course, I do!”

Even though he was one greatest race horses of all time, “He wore blinders for a reason, and he had a bridle for a reason.” This is because he had to block out distractions and have guidance.

“So now, I need you to put your blinders on, and run.“
