What a ride! We loved starting Lucky 7 Horse Treats & learning about business for a good cause. Unfortunately, we can’t keep up with running the business & our schoolwork, so our project has come to an end.

This year we are proud to donate our profits to New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program to help keep horses out of the slaughter pipeline & to Colby’s Crew Rescue in Virginia that rescues around 600 horses a year from kill pens!

Please support horse rescues! Take responsibility for your animal friends- it is your responsibility to ensure they never end up at a slaughter house. ❤️

Jahmyr Gibbs, dynamic running back of the Detroit Lions, has unveiled a groundbreaking project — Freedom Ranch, a 150-acre sanctuary in California worth $6 million, built to rescue and restore neglected horses. “This isn’t just a shelter,” Gibbs said. “It’s a place where horses can heal, receive continuous veterinary care, and relearn trust through dedicated training. We’ve also created programs where kids can spend time with these animals, learning empathy and respect in the process. What we’re really offering is a chance at a new life.” Through Freedom Ranch, Gibbs hopes to set a standard across the nation and inspire other athletes to step forward in the fight for animal welfare.

With the passing of Robert Redford at 89, the world remembers not only a Hollywood icon but also a lifelong defender of animals.

Redford was deeply committed to protecting wild horses and burros in the American West. As a board member of Return to Freedom Wild Horse Conservation, he used his voice to oppose horse slaughter and fight for the preservation of mustangs.

His compassion went beyond advocacy. On a film set in New Zealand, Redford personally stepped in to rescue a neglected horse, ensuring it received food, water, and care. At home, his Horse Whisperer Ranch in Utah was a sanctuary where he cared for his own horses and lived close to nature.

Though he is gone, Robert Redford’s legacy reminds us that kindness and respect for animals can change the world — both on and off the screen.
