🎇 A Defining Moment for Melbourne 🎇

On Tuesday, October 13 at 6:00 PM, the City of Melbourne will unveil the Founders Portraits in the Council Chamber at City Hall. City Council representatives, city staff, and key leaders and members of the Concerned Citizens Committee of South Brevard will come together to present the portraits and speak to the deep significance of this historic occasion that is about honoring the freedmen whose vision, resilience, and faith helped shape the Melbourne we know today.

This is more than an unveiling. It is a public affirmation of our shared history and a call to carry that legacy forward. Join us for this meaningful ceremony, then continue the evening with CCCSB at 7:00 PM at Casa Bonita in Indialantic for fellowship, connection, and community. We invite you to be present for a moment that belongs to all of us. Please share this flyer with your social circle and look out for the flyer for the fellowship event at Casa Bonita.

Felix Angel (b. 1949) is a contemporary Colombian artist known for semi-abstracted figurative compositions. He served as Commissioner on the Arts and Humanities for Washington, D.C., since 2000, he has been a contributing editor to the Handbook of Latin American Studies at the Library of Congress. He has exhibited extensively throughout the United States and South America since the 1970s. This horizontally oriented painting depicts a rider in military attire atop a horse with exaggeratedly large proportions.
