What a crazy week it was!
One of my favorite things about a vendor fair is interacting with all the different people. This one was a little different. Honestly, it was outside my comfort zone.
When I signed up for Las Mananitas, I couldn't imagine what would be happening in society at this point in history, (ICE raids, the assassination of Charlie Kirk), would hit so close to home. That it would actually be affecting my small little world.
I will say, Viva North Platte did not dissappoint. My business was well supported, so much so that I feel my next 7 weeks before Cowboy Christmas are going to be absolutely hectic. Adi Dobbins, the organizer, took the time to personally speak with me. The other vendors were hospitable and freindly. The young man next to me, Desmond, even took the time to show me his craft and share a few with me. I also picked up this really cool decoration, Color Street Nails, and ate the best food all day. The Mariachi bands are talented and the cars, well, I don't completely understand, (I'm a pickup truck and classic car kind of person), were very well displayed and there was a sense of joy about the entire competition.
This event will always stand out to me. In a time of such turmoil, it was amazing to witness people come together to celebrate their culture. Thank you so much Las Mananitas for allowing me to come to your event. I will never forget your kindness.
And last but certainly most important, the continuation of the series on peace in our church. My notes were sparse. I struggled to listen intently. I did catch this:
Phillipians 4:6-7 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Jesus Christ.
