Wednesday, June 17th- what a beautiful morning! Birds chirping, quietness after a rain. Perfect. The stand is stocked this morning with a few mixed bunches all similar to this one here. Snapdragons, yarrow, and other randomness! Perfect for a mid week pick me up!

Tuesday, June 16th!

Flower farming is always evolving and your day is almost never guaranteed to look how you thought it would….

Today, while I will spend a couple hours w**ding, I’ll also take some of that time I planned to w**d and will now be building a cage for 8 large amaranth plants. There’s a first time for everything and someone decided to get themselves a little snack yesterday. To be successful we must be able to shift. Every day if necessary for situations like this. This is the first time I’ve had deer eat this plant and it’s the third year I’ve grown it. Determined to make it work!

Monday, June 15th!

While the stand is empty today, we are busy!
Last week I spent about 18 hrs hand w**ding and my better half helped a couple hours as well. This week will not be any different and this is NOT the time to slow down on keeping up with w**ds even though it’s tempting. Early season w**ding helps plants establish and helps them attract less garden pests. Once plants are established they’ll start to choke out the w**ds 😜

If you are looking for something fun to do this coming weekend, Hidden Spruce Lavender Farm is open for a lavender u-pick! Their setting is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful!

I can’t stress the importance of shopping local enough. Last week I bought these lavender plants from Hidden Spruce and can’t wait to share them mixed in your arrangements in years to come. If you are a local business, tag yourself and what you offer below.

Today we’re doing something a bit different. There are many bud vases of wildflowers that I picked this morning. Do you know someone who could use something to make them smile? Please feel free to stop and grab a bunch for them for free.

[THU 10PM] A line of storms cutting across Eaton County occasionally shows signs of a potential tornado. Ingham County is NOT under a tornado warning at this time, but if the radar look worsens it is possible one could be issued.
