we send a free hug in a box to deployed Service members, but when I started this program for BoxFull, I didn’t want to just send a random box to a random person.

The whole point of BoxFull is that we connect people with the ones they love when they can’t be there…

Our program is different. I want the people here that miss and love someone to receive a free box to send.

Because how sweet is that?!

The tiniest thank you for their service 🇺🇸

And for those moments when they’re feeling down or alone, unemployment… They have a physical stand in for the people they love that they can hold, squeeze crying to sleep with… Hug until they come home again.

Most gifts show up… but they don’t really show up.

Flowers wilt.
Gift cards feel impersonal.
A quick text says “thinking of you,” but it doesn’t quite carry the weight of a real hug.

And sometimes what someone actually needs is comfort. Connection. To feel remembered.

That’s the gap we kept noticing.
