I had another really nice old guitar come in last week for a little love. It's a Harmony H-65 jazz box. Overall the finish is very clean and all that's missing is the original pickguard, and the bridge, which has been replaced due to the original buckling under string tension. The neck is actually a little more slender than most similar guitars I have seen, which usually sport what I call a "Louisville Slugger" contour. The pickup (which, I'm told was actually supplied to Harmony by Gibson in those days) has that beautiful, clear but smooth "P-90" sound. After a setup and intonation of the new bridge, this old boy sounds and plays great. An interesting side note is that the veneer covering the headstock face is actually Brazilian Rosewood, which is probably more than half as valuable as the whole guitar was when it was new!
