When your Hoya decides it wants a roommate… whether they like it or not! 🌿🧗‍♀️
I thought I was just doing a little plant rehabilitation on my kitchen counter, but apparently, I’m actually hosting a botanical soap opera.
I’ve had this Hoya sitting here for a while, just chilling and acclimating in its pot. I stepped away for a bit, and when I looked back, the Hoya had completely launched a mission. It sent a long, adventurous vine shooting up and has officially snagged onto its neighbor!
It’s like it looked over, saw a perfectly good support structure, and decided, “Yep, I’m claiming that.” You can see the full takeover in the photos—it’s honestly the most determined, weird, and super fun thing I’ve seen my plants do in a long time.
Nature really doesn’t care about our plans; it just wants to climb! Has anyone else had a plant stage a "jailbreak" or try to hijack a neighbor like this?

Last night’s Plant & Grow night with Sprouting Kael and was everything I hoped it would be and more. We turned the backyard into a cozy little theater, watched Little Shop of Horrors on the big screen, and got our hands dirty creating creepy‑cute “monster” planters together. Between the neon green pots, the custom chomp-y plant stakes, and all the gorgeous foliage, the table looked like a tiny, spooky jungle by the end of the night.
What made it really special was the vibe: friends hanging out, trading plant tips, laughing over spilled soil, and cheering each other on as everyone picked out the perfect plant for their new hungry monster. Folks mixed and matched sansevieria, spider plants, philos, and more, building living arrangements that were just as unique as they are. By the time the credits rolled, everyone had a one-of-a-kind creation to take home and a fun story to go with it.
Huge thank you to everyone who came out, played in the dirt, and helped make this such a fun, weird, and wonderful evening. I’m so grateful for this growing little community and can’t wait to plan the next Plant & Grow night. If you missed this one, stay tuned—there’s definitely more green goodness (and maybe more monsters) on the way.

Why my front porch ferns look a little… "lived in." 🌿🐦
When you walk up to my house, you’ll see plenty of luscious, thriving greenery—everything is blooming and full of life. But then, your eye catches these two. Yes, they look a bit sad. Yes, they are technically dying. And no, it’s not for a lack of "plant parent" effort on my part!
The truth? I do this every single year, on purpose.
Every spring, a family of tiny sparrows decides that these two hanging baskets are the perfect, safest spot to build their home. And every year, I make the choice to pause my normal plant maintenance. If I were to water, prune, or repot them, I would disturb their home and displace their nest.
It’s definitely hard to look at these crispy, brown ferns when I’m aiming for curb appeal, but the trade-off is worth it every single time. Knowing that I’m providing a safe, quiet sanctuary for a little family of birds to grow is much more important to me than having perfect porch decor.
So, for now, these ferns are officially "for the birds"—and I wouldn't have it any other way. 🏡❤️

The wait is finally over! 🦇✨
I am beyond excited to share that my Black Bat Flower (Tacca chantrieri) is officially showing its first sign of a bloom! I’ve been babying this plant for so long, trying to nail the humidity and care, and seeing that little bud start to push through feels like such a huge win.
Can’t wait to watch it unfurl into that signature "bat" shape. Has anyone else ever bloomed one of these? Any tips for the final stretch?

Sprouting Kael update 🌱
The Jungle is doing what it does best—pushing out fresh leaves all over the place. There’s something about that first bit of new growth that never gets old…just a reminder that everything here is alive, thriving, and doing its thing. Keep an eye out—this is just the beginning.

Somewhere between “I’m a homebody” and “I don’t really go out,” my boyfriend thought he’d unlocked the budget‑friendly boyfriend package.
No clubs, no bars, no designer this or that… just me at home in my own little nest.
Plot twist: I turned the “cheap” boyfriend house into a full‑blown tropical jungle.
Now we’ve got humidity settings, grow lights, and rare plants that cost more than his electronic light and sound upgrades at the theatre.
He didn’t save money.
He just accidentally fell in love with a plant‑obsessed homeowner with a Monstera habit. 🌿
