Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, which means six more weeks of winter weather is ahead. Yep, I think that prediction deserves a donut for comfort . . . or celebration, depending just where you fall on the spectrum between snow bunny and beach babe. Me? I'm honestly somewhere in the middle 😜⁠

The first day of a new month on a Monday! Is there anything more blissful?
Well, to this calendar-loving, over-planner, everything-has-a-place gal, not really! 😜
But seriously, I love November. But I have boundaries when it comes to this month. I decorate for Thanksgiving, only. Not one single Christmas item shows up until after Thanksgiving.
So, I'm curious. Do you stick to the Thanksgiving holiday, or do you merge Thanksgiving and Christmas together?

Personally, it is essential that I get in a good sweat session daily by either boxing and/or strength training. (We can discuss the pros and cons of rest days later 😜) Believe it or not, it actually gets the creative juices flowing for a lot of my designs! Crazy, right?!?! I can move all of the daily stressors and random thoughts I hanging onto out of my head, allowing for better, and honestly, more fun things! Plus, the boost of endorphins is kind of the cherry on top!⁠
⁠
And not a workout goes without some self talk to myself, saying 'You got this', knowing full well that my body can do much more than my brain thinks it can!⁠
⁠
So, I have to know . . . do you have a go-to-phrase during an intense workout, or just in the middle of a rough day?⁠⁠⁠⁠

Want to know the truth about The Emcubed Studio? While I wouldn't say there have been bumps in the road, it was a winding road that led me here. ⁠

It all started with graduation gifts for some close classmates. Once I entered the scrapbooking world, it didn't seems as daunting as I thought it would be. So I took off scrapbooking for myself!⁠
⁠
My scrapbooking led me to friends that enjoyed paper crafts just as much, but in a slightly different format . . . greeting cards. I created packs of greeting cards as Christmas gifts for close friends and family. To be honest, they are still the most requested gift from me!⁠
⁠
I started to offer up my design skills to friends and family for invitations of all kinds: birthday parties, weddings, birth announcements, etc. I love being able to contribute to such important occasions in my own personal way!⁠
⁠
You didn't think I left the scrapbooking behind did you? Not a chance! It is still one of my favorite things to do, especially now that I have a family! I hope that they will cherish the books as much as I do!⁠

They keep saying that beautiful is something a girl needs to be.
But honestly? Forget that. Don't be beautiful.
Be angry, be intelligent, be witty, be klutzy, be interesting, be funny, be adventurous, be crazy, be talented - there are an eternity of other things to be other than beautiful.
And what is beauty anyway but a set of letters strung together to make a word?
Be your own definition of amazing, always.
That is so much more important than anything beautiful, ever.

I don't know anything about poetry, but I am always drawn to Nikita Gill's work. It is fierce and simple and cuts through all the societal rules. It's empowerment in a poem and I just adore it.

I mean, this card is the epitome of summer. There is nothing like eating a popsicle in the heat of the day, knowing that you have begun a race against time. Who will win? You, eating the popsicle without a drop of the sugary liquid missed, or the heat of summer, watching part of the treat fall to the ground and melt. It's the most basic and epic summer battle. Stay strong! You got this!

I mean, what could I possibly say about pink that hasn't already been said? It's a fabulous color, attitude, mood, emotion, energy, way of life.

"As long as there is pink in the world, it will always be a better place."
"Pink isn't just a color, it's an attitude."
"Always look on the pink side of life."
"Anything is possible with sparkle and a little pink."
"The color pink makes everything look pretty."

I think those statements are pretty inclusive of the color.

I don't think I have ever needed Vitamin D as much as I have this year. I have spent way too much time inside and stationary this past fall and winter. So I am taking advantage of the natural go-go juice and getting outside as much as I can, even if it's just mowing the grass. It feels blissful on my skin , and potent enough to feel it soaking down to my bones, stirring my soul awake again.
