LIVING WATERS
I have pondered this verse for years and have decided that I want these waters flowing out of my life: “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
— John 7:38
I decided to create this piece to really let it sink into my soul…
Walking with God is a long journey.
And the longer we live, the more life gets into the water.
Loss. Disappointment. Mistakes. Waiting. Hurt. Circumstances we never saw coming.
Sometimes those things can make the water within us feel blocked and downright stale and maybe a little stinky :-(
We wonder where God is… or why we don’t feel like we are growing at all.
But I’ve learned something.
If we just keep walking.
Keep seeking.
Keep turning toward God - even when it feels like nothing is happening…
Something beautiful happens.
Somewhere along the way, the water begins to move again. And often, we don’t even realize when it happened.
The very things we thought were blocking the flow were places where God was refining us.
Deepening us.
Softening us.
Teaching us things we could not have learned any other way.
And eventually, what He has done in us begins to flow from us.
Fresh water.
Living water.
Not because our journey was easy or untouched by life…
but because it wasn’t.
Maybe that is part of the miracle of walking with God.
Nothing is wasted.
Even the places that once seemed to stop the water can become the very places from which it flows.
