Dimension does not have to overpower.

When the structure underneath is right, it compliments. That is what designing for anatomy looks like — the set reads differently from every angle because it was built for her face, not for the camera.

This is what most lash education does not teach. Technique gives you the tools. It does not teach you anatomical compatibility. It does not teach you how to design for the client in front of you instead of the inspo photo on your phone.

Without the framework underneath, you are aiming with your eyes shut.

This is what it looks like when the system works.

Cherysh asked for medium to long lashes. A little drama. Fullness that still looks like eyeliner. Spacey like Bratz, anime, manga. Wet look with fluffiness. And underneath all of that — she wanted her wide-set eyes to feel closer together while keeping a lifted effect.

Most of those requests do not live in the same set. They contradict each other, immensely. She even asked the eyes to appear closer together while sending inspo that leans entirely cat eye. That is exactly the kind of brief the Poised Lux Mapping Score System is built for.

Her score was a 6 — the highest combination possible. Wide-set width feature. Upturned. Average depth. Every design decision had to hold all four of her requests without throwing off the harmony of her face.

The set that delivered this used the shortest length in the entire design at the outer corner. Not the longest. The illusion of a lifted cat eye comes from placement, not length. The eyes appear closer together because the design pulls focus inward, not outward. Anchor spiking is a concept adapted in the system that handles that.

You are not supposed to be able to see how it works. That is the point…

The reveal is at the end of the video.

What you see on the internet is not the full work. This is insight to my full build out of a dimensional lash design.

For Cherysh I pulled out 15 to 20 different lash trays before she arrived. I needed options. The dimension you see in the final result comes from variation — different curls, different diameters, different lengths, all working together along the lash line.

Difference = dimension. If you’ve been mentored by me- you know this has been my mantra for years.

When I draw a design, it is one-dimensional on paper. The real eye canvas is not. So the prep accounts for everything I cannot capture in the sketch — the angles, the depth, the way the design will read from the side and up close, not just head on.

That is what the prep is for. That is what the system teaches.

That number tells me one thing immediately. That this design has the power to throw off the harmony of her entire face if executed incorrectly.

She sent over four inspiration photos. All of them pretty voluminous and dramatic leaning. And most of them leaning cat eye. And cat eye is exactly what her anatomy did not need.. it would have pulled her wide-set eyes further apart and worked against the balance we were trying to achieve.

So I did not copy and paste her inspiration. Instead, I extracted the feeling from each one.

Inspiration is information, not instruction.

You honor what the client is asking to feel, then you find the materials and the design decisions that deliver that feeling on her specific face.

The result is a design that reads dramatic, voluminous, and wispy without compromising her harmony.

This was the result.

Sketched at 5am morning of. (see my last post). Mapped against her anatomy. Designed to satisfy her inspo without compromising her face.

The goal was very natural and wispy without volume. Flirty. Intentional. Stable enough at the base to actually hold up — because a natural longer set (with no volume) without baseline integrity collapses within days.

Most of the work is happening where you cannot see it. That is the point.

What I want every artist following this mini series to take away: the moments where your artistry feels challenged are the moments that reveal how skilled you actually are. Pressure is not the test. What you choose to rely on under pressure is the test.
