Actually obsessed with the deep emotions that shine so bright in here, I can't stop thinking about it. Stunning.

The marketing calls it a coming of age horror filled with sapphic longing and fierce defiance and I'm honestly in love with that description, its so perfect. Have you read it? Is it on your tbr yet?

this movie is the most this viet girlie has ever really seen of vietnam and it feels like hope to be able to see it on the big screen. one day ill be able to go but for now, im so happy i have this 🥺🩷

I've gotten so much book mail recently that I'm midly stressed about reading it all but I'm SO excited to pick these up!

DAMNED IF YOU DO by Alex Brown is something I've been eyeing for so long. I'm always begging for more mixed Asian authors because its personal to me and that "q***r buffy the vampire slayer" has me swooning!

BITTER MEDICINE by Mia Tsai I've already read (and done an interview with the author! Find it in my highlights) and I'm absolutely obsessed with the world and the calligraphy magic and the romance

STUDY BREAK by Aashna Avachat is a series of interconnected short stories which is a format that I absolutely love. And I've been secretly cheering on these authors for so so long, I can't wait to read them (or read more of them!)

THE DEEP SKY by Yume Kitasei is a deep space thriller and another with mixed Asian rep 🫶 I'm kind of a chicken so Im mildly nervous but the last space thriller I read I adored so Im SO excited to dig in to this too

A while ago I had speak with me on Bookish Brews about how we can restore history through historical fiction. The root of it all was truly that we should give history the same dignity that we give the present and be aware of the people who were there.

The past is not the history that's given to us by the powers that be, but there is richness in our history that we can learn from. There are lessons to be learned and people that often get ignored.
