𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝟭, also known as 𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘇 𝟭, is a type of abnormal heart rhythm that affects the electrical conduction system of the heart. It is characterized by a progressive lengthening of the PR interval on an electrocardiogram (ECG) until a QRS complex is dropped. The PR interval is the time it takes for the electrical impulse to travel from the atria to the ventricles.⁣

This 13-page cheat sheet breaks down important OR topics like pre-op checks, consent, sterile technique, anesthesia, positioning, surgical counts, OR safety, documentation, common procedures, meds, and PACU handoff.⁣

The OR can feel intimidating, especially when you’re new, in clinicals, or trying to understand how everything fits together before, during, and after surgery.⁣

I’m so grateful to finally share another resource she created.⁣

This topic is obviously personal to me, but I’m thankful to collaborate with Orange County Fire Authority and the AFE Foundation to help continue spreading awareness and education around AFE.

Please sit down with your crew and watch this video. These conversations matter.
