The final embroidery sampler in the Retro Kitchen Trio Collection...Time to Eat. Stitched by the wonderful Teri Anderson with threads.

Once there was a small red barn where a few pigs lived. I first remember walking inside the structure when I was about 5 years old. I wasn’t impressed. The pigs were loud and pushy; not to mention pretty smelly. However, one day, there was a very pleasant surprise: piglets. I couldn’t get enough of their cute little snouts and ears--and their curled tiny pink tails! When it came time to eat, those sweet little tails wagged like puppy tails. I was in piggy love. I never forgot that dose of cuteness and that’s how Time to Eat came to be.

All my art has a story...and Rise and Shine is no different. It's inspired by my infamous rooster, Hank, and stitched with Perle 8 threads.

Stitched by the very talented Teri Anderson.

In working with my hand embroidery students, I've seen first-hand how engaging in traditional arts can yield benefits like stress relief and enhanced cognitive function. Many report a sense of purpose and accomplishment as they explore their inherent creative abilities and express their own personal narratives through stitching.
