The Maypole is the symbolic weaving of human life and the life of Nature itself. Traditionally the top of the maypole wore a wreath to symbolize the fertile power of Nature. The ribbons are an ancient talisman of protection. To ensure the safety of the newborn season.
The Maypole dance is both a spiral dance and a circular one. The two circles of dancers face each other and weave in and out as they dance around in opposite directions. The dance is done when the ribbons are too short to weave.

This month I am honored to support not one but two causes close to my heart. This one is veterans, as I am one. The first annual Veterans Mudbug Jamboree is on! Grab the family & come down to the tracks at 206 magnolia st., to celebrate, shop, drink, eat and listen to live music on April 29th & 30th! Free entry! Donations and proceeds from crawfish sales are being sent to the Institute for Peer Support of veterans.

I will be joining in a cause that is so close to my heart, not only as a pagan but I also have an enormous amount of love for these creatures. One of my local wolf sanctuaries is throwing a birthday party. All cost of admission and my cost to be there go to preserving this sanctuary and taking care of these amazing creatures. I can't wait to see y'all there.
