I have to admit, pandemic is starting to leave me a little worse for wear.
In an effort to help ease my nerves, I spent a little time making something beautiful.

A lot of people don’t find possums beautiful, I admit, but I’ve always appreciated them.
North America’s only marsupial, they’re like some kind of mundane unicorn that carry their young in a pouch or on their back all while eating ticks out of our yards.

They are unique and weird and wonderful, and in this strange time that is what I’m trying to see in the mirror.
Even though I’m stressed and tired and worried (and the lines under my eyes tend to skew more aubergine than they used to), I always strive too look for what makes me wonderful, too.

There’s a lesson to be learned from our humble fuzzy friends, and for now I think that’s enough.
