Getting ready for the gem show next weekend. I will have several flats of trinitite samples. $20 each or $400/flat. I am also bringing a flat of red specimens. These are small but affordable for those who want to own a piece with the quasicrystals in it.

Unusual solid black trinitite found in La Paz collection.

When I purchased the last of the Lincoln La Paz collection, there were about a dozen of these black trinitites that were different than the other blacks I had seen. These pieces are still being tested, and I will post results once we get it done.

I traded a few pieces to Scott Campbell (aka, The Trinitite Man) when we were collaborating on the big 345-gram trinitite. He took these photos of a piece I traded to him. Cool stuff!

Picked up this cool photo on eBay of Lincoln LaPaz testing a plate with a Geiger counter. The photo is an original from a newspaper archive from an article they were working on in 1955. I wanted it because of the piece(s) of trinitite in the bottom left of the photo. It is the only picture I have seen of him with trinitite.

Building flats of Wallace Smith and Pray specimens for the show today and I ran across this piece. It was from the Pray material. Only about a quarter gram, but a killer blue sphere attached on top.
