So I wanted to take a minute to tell you about our chipotle bomb flavor we added that is definitely UNIQUE to us. You might find this “flavor” somewhere else, but not like this. This one… this is for the foodie in your life. TLDR: homemade chipotles, but bomb is NOT spicy hot but is amazing in flavor and smoky.
This is Chef John’s baby right now and let me tell you why. John is a bonafide “pepper guy”. Anyone who knows him in real life knows he grows the hottest peppers in the world for fun and lots of them. Why? Well other than to store them “for something” and to irritate his wife taking up valuable garden space with inedible things versus edible things. Then he dries them, smokes them, freezes them, lets them rot in the fridge, on the vine, makes experiments with them, hot sauces, rubs, eating for fun, you name it, he’s done it.
Now, chipotles are just jalapeños gone red on the vine, smoked and dried. So naturally we have lots of those. This is John de-seeding and chopping up his home grown, smoked and dried chipotles that he then ground up into chipotle powder to add to the inside of this bomb among a few other spices to give it an incredible rounded, spicy and smoky taste.
This bomb is NOT spicy hot! He removed the seeds and pith. What’s left is the flavor. So there is lots of FLAVOR spice. Not heat spice. I am not a big fan of spicy chocolate and I loved this!
Also: he can and has made custom orders of actual hot spicy versions or versions with cinnamon etc as well. You just have to ask.
