Part of the DNA of Mr. PoPo's BBQ is giving back and remembering those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Today we pause to remember Greenwood Kansas Sheriff, Matt Samuels. Matt is the father of one of Mr. PoPo's friends, current Greenwood County Sheriff, Heath Samuels. I never had the pleasure to meet Matt, but as I've been told, Heath is just like his dad.

Here's to you Matt. We will never forget you!

Sheriff Matthew Samuels was shot and killed at approximately 10:00 am as he and two deputies served an arrest warrant at a home near Virgil, Kansas.

We are a small family business who experiences losses like everyone. We want to take a second and honor Mr. PoPo's mother who passed away this week. She loved our ribs, beans and PIG SPIT! She was a big fan of Mr. PoPo's BBQ. She will be missed. Maybe we should call her MAMA POPO!!!
