Little Newbie

Black 4x6” frame with a feathered Poe Raven. He may look demure, but he knows how to party.

After messing with this frame, I was in the mood to do a feathered Poe Raven. The teal/blue in the feathers is echoed by color details in the frame. He is about 12x10”.

Doll Parts

I inherited a large stockpile of vintage doll parts a while ago, mainly heads & arms. To me they represent goddesses, the feminine divine, maybe sometimes martyred goddesses. I like to mess them up a bit with dark paint smudges & connect them as much as possible to natural elements.

I have phobias regarding clowns & puppets, so these disembodied heads are possibly a manifestation of that darkness? I still have a lot of them in my supply bins, so they’ll continue for a while longer, whatever their shadowy inspiration is!

New Workspace Energy

It took a week to get my bearings & relearn where supplies & knick knacks were located in the new workspace, but the process is pretty much streamlined now. These are all projects created in the new space!

Forest Goddess

This Amazon goddess is composed within a 15x13” wooden frame on a real mushroom (preserved with a matte sealer). She has snakeskin clothes, arrowheads, moss, & eucalyptus tendrils. As much as part of the forest as the roots, bark, & moss, this goddess is both protector of life & celebrator of death.

She needs to dry overnight & will be up on the wall at Dark Arts tomorrow!
