EZ Fishing

Tyler, Paul and Scott Watson, grandson, son and grandfather, in that order fished Pyramid Lake, CA with me today.
We were talking and realized that I lived within a couple blocks of them twice, in two different houses. It's a small world.
They caught a bunch of fish, after they got through the learning curve of not bumping the rods before setting the hook.
They caught 19 striper, 4 channel cats and a smallmouth.
They caught a bunch of fish on our first stop. The fish there, were tentative about the bites, if the pole was touched before the swing they were gone.
We moved from that spot and tried another one. It took a few minutes before we got any hits but when they hit there, they just pulled the tips down in the water. When a school would pass through that were biting we would get hits on three poles, one after another.
Fun fun!

Yesterday Joseph Ho, Pastor Charles and James fished with me at Pyramid Lake, CA.
After we followed the bear over to Chumash Island, we went over and set up on a bait spot.
The bite was slower but still good. We got 8 striper, 3 catfish and 2 smallmouth.
A good time was had by all.

Julian Tran fished with me at Pyramid Lake, CA today. Fishing was good.
We each caught a fish from boils that we fished on the way out. They were small. We tossed them.
When we set up on a bait spot Julian caught a nice striper then before we got that one in he was hooked up on an 8 pound channel cat.
We had lots of fish showing most of the morning on the fish finders but only an occasional fish took a bait. Still it was plenty.
Julian wanted to see the umbrella rigs at work so we pulled up stakes and trolled for about 30 minutes before we headed out. That's how we got the 10th striper. It was about 4½ pounds. It took a big lure fished 14 colors out on lead core, so, about 75 foot deep. We didn't get any on the umbrella rig but we only fished it for half an hour.

We caught 10 striper total and 3 channel cats.

Cesar Sanchez and his son Alex (Alessandro) fished with me yesterday.
We did well. The striper bit well first thing and we got a nice catfish, then there was a slower period then a little bit bigger striper came in after about an hour. We also got another catfish.
When the fish took another break at around 11 we tried trolling but only got a couple small ones to play.
After that we called it. The total for the day was 12 striper and 2 catfish.
