Oscar Schmidt 'Galiano' c 1920  |  $1250  |  (v2417  )  This is a Jersey City, NJ made Galiano-branded concert-size guitar that represented the apex of the Oscar Schmidt line in it's pre-depression-era days.  Quality timber, showy purfling trim and pearl 'tree-of-life' finger board inlay all ...

Gibson L-50 Archtop 1935  |  $1950  |  (v2606  )  The 1935 carved-top, flat-back archtop L-50s are the second iteration of the model, and could arguably be the model's apex, too.  Later in '35, the backs are carved, which changed the sound somewhat.  Overall, these are really wonderful sound...

Check out this crazy great resonator that really puts out "the sound". This wood body dobro from c. 1939 sports a Regal body with genuine National innards, including the original spun cone. It's mostly original except for period correct tuners and new saddles. This rare beauty was recently set up in our shop with a fresh neckset and set up for easy action, perfect for fingerpicking. For more info and a great soundclip, check out the link below...........

Regal Wood-body Dobro c 1939  |  $1450  |  (v26  )   We going to call this one "Henry", because that's the name  scratched faintly into the head stock.  As do many of the guitars his age, Henry appears to have lived a rough-and-tumble life, but after rehabbing at VBG, he's in the best shape...

Very few know about the rare and elusive Lyre Aero guitar made by Harmony under the Supertone label, even fewer have actually ever seen one. This is such a lovely and interesting instrument that sounds unique and wonderful, and plays perfectly. While we do believe this guitar was refinished at some point, it is otherwise original. For some very interesting info on this guitar, as well as a soundclip. check out the link below.......

Harmony Aero Bridge Lyre Vita-guitar c 1930  | $1975 | (v2131) If Harmony would have stopped production after issuing its Vitatone/Aero bridge line of guitars, their products would be spoken of in guitar circles in hushed, hyperbolic tones. But they didn't, and went on to manufacture zillions of 'o...

Martin D-35 1966  |  $4650  |  (v2603  )    In the late sixties, after decades of over-harvesting and depletion of its native Brazilian rosewood, the Brazilian government began to restrict the export of its coveted wood.  This caused a major shift in the thinking of guitar manufacturers, spe...
