Hello interested parties! I will be demonstrating traditional blacksmithing techniques at the Brewster in Bloom Festival this weekend, May 4th. Located at 773 Main St. Brewster, in Drummer Boy Park. Music, food, maybe some flowers...? I don't know.

I will be offering plant hooks for sale! Just in time for, well... Plants! Woohoo!

It's been awhile since I've messed with a coal forge, but I'm good at lighting fires, so we'll see how that goes.

See you there!

Hi Everyone! I'm back! Smiting glowing hot iron, reshaping steel to my every whim! Hahahaaaa!

Anywho, I'm working towards my first Spring season craft show. Probably a lot of plant hooks. Think, "Plant hooks." Lots of 'em. Well, some. A few. It's a work in progress...

The winter season of delivering oil, propane, and diesel is slowing down, which means the smithy is heating up! Woohoo! The smithy is the workshop, by the way, not me. Like, "The smith works in the smithy." But I did break a sweat the other day as I was hammering away. It was like 40 degrees. Not bragging, just saying.

Okay, so here's the little craft show. It's called a Sip & Stroll. You arrive, grab a cocktail, and strooooollllllll, quite leisurely, as you enjoy the local crafts. Then whip out the wallets! Yeah!

Or just stop in, say hi, and leave empty handed. Kinda sad, really, but your choice.

Hi! Remember me? Just your friendly neighborhood blacksmith.

Well, it seems like the busy winter season of propane and fuel oil delivery is over (it should be... it's nearly 70° here). So I'm back in the shop.

My business partner (and wife/BFF/Bae) and I decided to lessen my participation in the local and quite worthy craft fairs, and focus on increasing my skills and creativity at the anvil. Hopefully, fewer shows will equal better product. That's the goal.

Today, I am testing and refining some tools I made over the winter. I'll post a picture of the tool I made that helped produce this: a forged shoulder and tenon from 3/4 sq. It'll be the main arm for a slightly elaborate wall bracket. Cleaned up with some light filing.
