Just finished Heart the Lover by Lily King, which is both a prequel and sequel to Writers & Lovers, and I already know this one will stay with me for a long time.

The story follows Jordan, aka Casey Peabody, as she navigates a love triangle beginning in college while reflecting on the relationships that shaped both her past and present. Spanning from her early 20s into her late 40s, the novel beautifully explores first love, forgiveness, timing, and the way certain people never fully leave us.

It was emotional, tender, and quietly devastating in the best way. The kind of story that lingers long after the final page. It also kept bringing me back to one of my all-time favorites, Normal People by Sally Rooney.

If you love character-driven stories about messy relationships, longing, and the complicated ways we find our way back to ourselves (and sometimes each other), this one is absolutely worth picking up.

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review:

A stunning debut that kept me hooked from start to finish, with rich floriography and plant lore woven beautifully into the story. I was constantly second-guessing every character’s role in Persephone’s disappearance and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Happy Independent Bookstore Day!

Today is all about celebrating indie bookstores and the communities they help build. When Bell House Books was just an idea, I knew I wanted to create a space that felt welcoming, rooted in community, and open to every kind of reader.

What started as part-time pop-ups and community collaborations is now turning the page to a brand new chapter… a storefront and permanent home coming very soon.

Bell House Books is a place to gather, spark conversations, and share a love of reading. And while our doors aren’t open just yet, you can still celebrate with us today by shopping online (we’ve added so many new books to the site!).

Thank you for all of your support! I can’t wait to welcome you in person very, very soon.

The Little Prince has been a childhood favorite of mine that I’ve continued to return to well into adulthood—I’ve truly lost count of how many times I’ve read it. With each reread, I discover something new to love and a deeper understanding shaped by who I am in that moment. It’s one of those rare stories that grows with you.

How lucky am I to have a best friend who brought me back this beautiful edition all the way from London, easily one of my most treasured copies. 🇬🇧

I think it might be time to experience this story again, this time with my own kids.
