📌 A Little Honesty About the Perfume World Right Now…
I’m getting more and more skeptical of these constant perfume drops — weekly, bi-weekly, sometimes even more frequent — from whichever house is chasing the algorithm this month.
New release after new release. Hype videos, limited batches, “exclusive” ingredients… It all moves so fast that most of us don’t even have the time to properly research, sample, understand, or truly assess what we’re being sold.
Hype is hype. It arrives loud and disappears just as quickly.
A lot of people in the community are tired of it — tired of the noise, the FOMO pressure, the feeling that it’s more about marketing than actual perfumery. When everything is “the best ever” and “revolutionary,” nothing really stands out anymore.
That’s why I choose to stick with houses that truly understand perfumery — the ones that take time to craft, balance, and refine instead of just blending expensive ingredients and calling it a day.
