Serving as the backbone for dance throughout the Florida Keys,
SMDT has fostered the growth of the Key West dance community
since 1980. The not for profit company has been the stepping stone
for dancers and dance affiliates, and has provided an artistic outlet
for an array of talented local and non-local artists. Under the direction of esteemed dancer and choreographer
Allison Mayer, the comp

repertoire of classical ballet, contemporary, lyrical, flamenco,
hip-hop, jazz and ballroom dance. Founder and Ballet Mistress of
the Florida Keys Community College Ballet Program, Mayer
continues her over 30 years of community outreach by providing
ongoing professional classes for students ages 3 through adult
with an expansion of the curriculum on the horizon to include
various other forms of dance. The mission of SMDT is to continue to present quality
dance and performances to Key West audiences and provide
a home for dancers, dance students and artists to thrive in.

Just keep working. Ballet is just. What you put in to it is what you'll get out of it. expose and embrace your weaknesses and then overcome them. That is the work.
