What is a junk journal?

First, it really isn’t “junk” but can be made from what others may deem as “junk”. It’s so much more than that though. Are you someone who considers yourself a paper lover? You love books, papers, vintage, old photos, an avid recycler? All of these (and many more) may put you in the category of a junk journal fan!

An online search defines it as, “A Junk Journal is a handmade book of recycled and found materials and ephemera. The pages can be used to write, draw, paint or record memories, thoughts, ideas, and inspiration. The finished junk journal can become anything you want.”

To me, it’s whatever you want it to be, a journal, notebook, diary, creative outlet, the list is personal and endless.

Do you love journals but have writer’s block? I often hear, “I don’t know what to write in my journal? Well, I can’t answer that for you, but hopefully this will give you some ideas to Inspire you.

-What happened to you today? Include the five senses if you can (how it feels outside, smells, how your breakfast tasted, etc. etc.)

-Favorite quotes or lines from a song you heard recently that resonated with you. Favorite Bible verses.

-Decorate a page with little or no writing. Think of a miniature vision board, but maybe one idea on a page in a journal.

-Gratitude – what are you thankful for?

-Prayers – who are you praying for, what are you praying about, what has happened since you started praying?

-Special memories

This is NOT an exhaustive list, it’s barely the tip of the iceberg. What are some ideas you have or like to journal about?
