The fun continued on Saturday with Event #2 of a busy and meaningful weekend!

I spent the afternoon at Team Tako Eye's fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, hosted by the amazing Alohi. She did a fantastic job bringing together vendors, resources, food, prizes, and of course... BINGO!

It was great seeing families come out to support the cause. Friends stopped by with their kids, grandparents joined in the fun, it was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and community spirit.

I even played a few rounds of Bingo and quickly realized I was a little rusty. How do you forget how to play Bingo? 😂

A big mahalo to everyone for all the hard work that went into organizing this event. I hope the vendors had a successful day, and most importantly, I hope the event raised meaningful funds for Team Tako Eye's Walk to End Alzheimer's efforts.

It was also great to see Julie and Scott from the Alzheimer's Association sharing valuable resources and information with our community.

It was wonderful to spend the afternoon representing A Honu Space, sharing information about my services, and introducing my books, Voices of Care and Lanterns in the Dark. I was grateful to sell and sign a few copies and have some wonderful conversations throughout the day.

Events like these show us how much can happen when a community comes together for a cause bigger than itself. 💜

What a busy and meaningful weekend!

On Friday, I participated in my very first book signing alongside an incredible group of authors: Denise Nussbaum, Claudia Micco, Dr. Theresa Smith, D.C., Carl Powell, and Nancy Jill Sundberg.

Seeing people stop by, ask questions, share their own caregiving experiences, and take home copies of our books was incredibly rewarding.

Voices of Care holds deep meaning for me because it gives space to something I am passionate about every day: hearing the voices of caregivers.

Caregivers often put their own needs aside while caring for a parent, spouse, friend, or loved one. Their stories are powerful, heartbreaking, inspiring, and too often overlooked. Being able to contribute my story and stand beside others who shared theirs was truly meaningful.

One moment from the evening still makes me tear up. A gentleman approached me after my reading and shared that he had taken time off work to attend. He wasn't even sure he should come. But as he listened, he realized the message was exactly what he needed to hear that day.

Oh, his words reminded me why we tell our stories!

Not because we want to be famous, but because sometimes someone walks into a room carrying something heavy, and a story helps them feel a little less alone.

I was so moved by our conversation that I asked if I could give him a hug.

To everyone who attended, purchased a book, shared a story, asked a question, or simply listened, thank you.

And to all caregivers: your work matters. Your experiences matter. Your voice matters.

I'll be at the Cameron Center tonight!

Writing my chapter for Voices of Care was one of the most meaningful projects I've been part of. It gave me the opportunity to share a story that is deeply personal to me and connected to the work I do supporting caregivers and families.

I'll also have copies of Lanterns in the Dark, a collection of stories about navigating life's challenges and finding hope along the way.

Tonight, I'll be joining the other authors to celebrate these books, connect with readers, and spend an evening with our community.

If you're looking for something to do this evening, we'd love to welcome you.

Maui friends, what are you doing Saturday afternoon?

I'll be attending Team Tako Eye's fundraiser for the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer's this Saturday and hope you'll stop by and join us.

This family-friendly event will feature bingo, local vendors, food, drinks, and information about Alzheimer's disease, all while raising funds to support the Alzheimer's Association and families impacted by dementia.

I'll be there representing A Honu Space with an informational table and would love the opportunity to meet you, answer questions, and share resources for organizing, downsizing, aging in place, caregiving, and supporting loved ones living with cognitive changes.

Not everything needs to end up in the landfill.

I work with over a dozen Maui agencies, nonprofits, shelters, and community groups to help get useful items back into the hands of people who actually need them.

Furniture.
Kitchen items.
Shoes.
Storage bins.
Household goods.
Everyday basics.

To one person it may feel like clutter.
To someone else, it can make a huge difference.

If you are overwhelmed, downsizing, clearing out, or just tired of looking at the pile, hire me and I will help responsibly remove items that are no longer serving you.

Or do it yourself.
Put the box or bag in your car.
Make the stop.
Drop it off.

Small effort.
Big impact.
Less waste.
More community.

In many families, one person quietly becomes responsible for almost everything.
The appointments.
The paperwork.
The groceries.
The calls.
The reminders.
The emotional weight.
And usually the clutter and household systems too.
People wait until they are completely overwhelmed before asking for help because somewhere along the way they convinced themselves they should be able to handle it all alone.

That is not sustainable long term.

As a professional organizer, I do not just organize closets.
I help create systems that reduce stress, improve safety, support caregivers, and make daily life more manageable.

Support is not weakness.
Structure is not failure.
And one exhausted child is not a long term care plan.

One conversation can open the door to a new connection, collaboration, or opportunity.

Recently I had the chance to attend a networking event at Akamai Broadcasting and spend time inside the studio meeting other Maui entrepreneurs, business owners, and community leaders.

We talked story about caregiving, organizing, community support, business, and the very real challenges families are navigating behind closed doors.

What I love about spaces like this is the reminder that organizing is about so much more than “stuff.” It is about helping people create safer, more functional, less overwhelming lives.

Community conversations matter.
Education matters.
Connection matters.

Grateful for opportunities to share what I do through A Honu Space while also meeting other people out there doing meaningful work for Maui. 🌺

There is something surreal about opening a box and seeing your words turned into a real book.

Lanterns in the Dark is my second published short story collaboration, and holding these copies in my hands felt emotional in a way I was not fully prepared for.

Writing is strange sometimes.
You quietly carry stories, experiences, grief, lessons, and memories for years. Then one day they exist outside of you, printed onto pages that someone else may read during a season they desperately need it.

This book is filled with stories of survival, scars, resilience, and light. I am deeply grateful to be part of it alongside so many courageous writers willing to tell the truth about hard things.

Watching kūpuna, caregivers, friends, and community members hold these books has honestly been one of the best parts.

Stories matter.
People matter.
Connection matters.
