Book holidays are some of the best there are! Here's an interesting calendar that has some of the many bookish holidays throughout the year.

My favorite book-related holiday is Books and Roses Day on April 23rd. The holiday originated when two traditions (Fira dels Enamorats, in which men would gift women roses, and El Dia del Llibre, in which the people of Spain celebrated the lives of remarkable authors) merged.

Originally, men would give women roses and women would give men books, but over time, the holiday has evolved so that it can be either way. Some different ways to celebrate this holiday can be holding book swaps or dressing as a favorite book character (a geeky hobby that's generally acceptable on this day)
