Rodeo season may be over in Houston, but fictional cowboys? They ride on FOREVER. 🐎

Summer’s coming and the girls are NOT accepting applications from real men right now — we’re strictly taking submissions from brooding ranchers, reformed outlaws, and tall dark strangers who tip their hat and say “ma’am.” 🤠

Can’t find a man to rescue a horse from? 😏
Don’t worry. We found the next best thing. 📚

Come ride into the Bookish Market Cowboy Romance Event and let a fictional man sweep you off your feet the way only a man written by a woman can🩷

May 29th | 6-10PM | Saint Arnold Brewery
Real horses optional. Tall, dark & fictional is mandatory. 🐴

He’s tall, brooding, owns land, and is NOT REAL. So come buy a book about him instead. 🤠🎀

Cowboy Romance Bookish Market : May 29th, 6–10PM at Saint Arnold’s Brewery. Indie authors, bookshops, vendors, sweet treats & a free book exchange. A Better Than Community event. 💖🫶

This isn’t just a market: it’s a whole community experience. Here’s what we’ve got planned:

🤠 Our traveling bookshop will be stocked with all the western romances your heart (and TBR pile) can handle.

🎀 All vendors are romance-themed : we’re not saying everything has to be cowboy boots and lasso energy, BUT we’re excited to see what your creative minds come up with.

📚 Free Community Book Exchange: bring a book, take a book, or donate books, and we’ll make sure they reach someone who needs them.

🥫 Food Drive: we host one every market because giving back is what we do. Bring a non-perishable and come with a full heart.

🤍 Nonprofit Partnerships: we’ll collaborate with several nonprofits to raise money for organizations close to our hearts. Because community isn’t just a word,it’s what we build.

Vendor applications go LIVE tonight — comment “vendor” and we’ll DM you the link! 🔗

Tag your bestie below if you wanna shop, sip, and fall in love with a new fictional man. 🤠🍺🖤

We were planning to save this for the weekend.
We couldn’t. You’re welcome, and we’re not sorry.😅

This is your official warning: what you’re about to watch has absolutely nothing to do with business and everything to do with the fact that we’re just three unhinged, silly little gals who somehow accidentally started a book company. Yes. Accidentally.

It started as a book club. Then the book club got pricey. Wine isn’t free. Making your own charcuterie boards isn’t free. Tattoo artists definitely aren’t free. And apparently, when you keep inviting women over, feeding them, and loving on them long enough, someone finally says, “we should just turn this into a business,” and suddenly, you have a business.

That’s the whole story. You heard it here.
We were also told by someone at networking event that they were nervous or intimidated to come talk to us, and we need to address that right now because, have you SEEN this video? WE WERE INTIMIDATED and EXCITED to be in that room. We enjoyed meeting everyone one so much. But back to the main point, we promise we are not intimidating. We’re a hazard. But in the best way. 😜

We are three different people who somehow don’t make sense together but also do at the same time. The books brought us here. You kept us here. And we are forever grateful for a community that allows us to be exactly this. OURSELVES. ❤️

Enjoy the chaos. We love you. Goodnight.🩷🎀🫶

Micah, Lizz, and Haley pulled up to Networking Night last night and we have to talk about it.⛳️💚

Networking is so much more than a hopeful collaboration. It is about getting into the right rooms with the right people who have access to things you did not even know you needed yet.

Last night we met an incredible coffee cart owner we are hoping to bring to future events, women behind a med spa and salon, nonprofit leaders, marketers, and business owners who do everything from real-estate, to websites & branding. The person you have been looking for might just be standing across the room.

And it is not just about what someone can do for you, it is about plugging your people too. Knowing when to say “I know exactly who you need” and making that introduction. That is the real currency in these rooms.

We also got to hear from — and if you know our Micah, you know her son is autistic. She also volunteers running with the blind, which has already put her thinking cap on when it comes to the disability space. So the speech from Inspire ND hit different last night. Hiring has been living in our thought bubble as Better Than Therapy expands this year. But walking away last night, the conversation shifted. It is not just about who we hire; it is about how we hire. How do we make Better Than Therapy a place where people with disabilities of all kinds have real roles, real opportunities, and a real sense of belonging?

That feels very on brand for us. Every character, every story, every author we celebrate comes from somewhere different, different struggles, different challenges, different magic. That is the whole point.

Would we have gotten there eventually? DUH. But that room last night put real pressure on the topic at exactly the right time. And that is what the right rooms do.

Tag someone below that you feel should connect with us OR tag two people below that you feel should connect with each other❤️✨

Nobody talks about the 47 takes it costs to make the one reel you actually post 🎬

This is Micah and Haley on content creation day...because as a small business owner, marketing yourself is the job. Nobody’s coming to save you. No ad budget, no agency, just two girls, one camera, and an ungodly number of retakes.

And here’s the thing, showing up consistently online is what brings people through the door IRL. So, yeah, they film the same 15 seconds over and over until it’s right, because they know it matters.
..and what were they making all this content for, you ask? 👀

Oh, just a little something called Fully Booked at the Boutique — a book-themed market hosted at Ava Wray this Saturday, April 25th from 11AM–4PM. Vendors, authors, a Traveling Bookshop, a free book exchange, a food drive, nonprofits, AND the first 20 people at the door get a free tote. 🛍️📚

Lizz and Haley take on four more stops of the Houston Bookstore Crawl, and we are not okay…in the best way😜

In case you missed it, Micah kicked things off with a stop at Village Books, and Lizz followed up at LIT Book Bar. The baton has officially been passed, and last week, Lizz and Haley returned to Houston to keep the crawl moving.

This week, we’re highlighting their four stops:

•The Book Attic — books stacked in every direction, unbelievable prices, and the kind of organized chaos that makes your heart happy.
•Copperfield Books — we walked in and were immediately greeted by the most stunning book art display that said “Books are my happy place,” and honestly? It said everything we needed to hear.
•Good Books in the Woods — tucked away like a secret and absolutely worth seeking out. Someone left with two Simon Sinek books. No further questions.
•Buy the Book — indie and local authors featured front and center, face-out, celebrated. This is the good stuff.

The Houston Bookstore Crawl is a month-long love letter to Houston’s indie literary community, and we are so proud to have been a sponsor this year, helping provide the bingo cards that launched so many readers’ adventures across the city. Supporting something that puts books, local businesses, and community first embodies what Better Than Therapy is all about. This is our world, and we love being part of it. 🖤

Now… we still have stops left on our list, and we need your help. Where should we go next? Drop your recommendations below! 👇
