Meanwhile, the farm has been busy!
🐥 More chicks are hatching after two really bad hatches… yes it happens to me all the time too.

👉🏼😞*I had 2 BAD hatches from other farms Summer eggs that must’ve been developing along the way or something because I only hatched two chicks out of one farm’s eggs, and four chicks out of another (let’s just say I bought more than a dozen from each).
Do I get a redo, NOPE. 🚫🫶🏼 Will I be buying more in the fall - yup. It happens yall…

🥚 I only have one incubator left running before I take a break until late fall.
💚 Our spring pullets are laying, and we’re getting some beautiful eggs.
☀️ We’ve had a tough stretch with this Texas heat and have sadly lost a few birds despite doing everything we can, but we’re staying hopeful.
🌿 Today more of the chicks moved out to the outdoor grow-out runs after a fresh round of cleaning to help give everyone a clean, healthy start.
Lots of exciting things are still happening around here, and I can’t wait to share what’s next!
