Recently, the Camp Logic Crew visited Airport Park Campground in Waco, Texas. However, strong winds curtailed our stay to a single night, as we found it difficult to sleep. As a tent camper, I would not rank this park highly, mainly due to its waterfront tent sites, which are naturally exposed to wind. That being said, the park's aesthetic appeal is undeniable. RV owners with boats or jet skis may find this a suitable choice. If you decide to stay at Airport Park Campground, consider visiting Slow Rise on the Brazos for their excellent pizza. The Camp Logic crew recently visited Buescher State Park in Smithville, Texas, for a weekend getaway, and were delighted by the park's scenic beauty, ample campsites, and modern bathrooms. However, our plans to explore the trails were thwarted by inclement weather, and a burn ban necessitated alternative cooking arrangements, resulting in a reliance on the griddle for meals such as hamburgers, pancakes, and eggs. During our stay, we took advantage of the opportunity to dine at Neighbors, a popular local restaurant in Bastrop, which provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, delicious cuisine, and attentive service. Ultimately, our time at the park was enjoyable, and we were pleased to have selected it as the destination for our first camping trip of the season.

🌲✨ Camp Logic is Heading to Carlsbad, New Mexico! ✨🌲

Last summer, the Camp Logic crew spent some time in the Pacific Northwest. We camped for 3 days in Oregon and 2 days in Washington. Let's start with our review of Oregon!

We stayed at beautiful Promontory Park in Estacada, Oregon, which is just outside Mount Hood National Forest. This park is above the North Reservoir on the Clackamas River. We stayed at site 24. It backed up to the river, which was a pleasant sound to sleep to. This campground is great for those who enjoy spending time on the water. They have a marina with a boat launch and offer kayak and paddle board rentals.This park is remote, so you have to travel a bit to get places. We spent one day driving around in amazement at all the Christmas Tree farms! We visited the Tillamook Creamery in Tillamook, Oregon. You get to watch cheese being made, which was neat, and also appetizing, so of course we had to try their in-house made ice cream and cheese curds. Then we headed up to Cannon Beach, Oregon to see Haystack Rock. It was much bigger than we thought it would be. Beautiful beach, but not what we are used to here in Texas. It was cold and windy. Still, a must see. Next, we took a quick trip to Astoria to see the house where the movie "The Goonies" was filmed. Another personal bucket list item was checked off that day for Chrissy, who has been a Goonies fanatic her entire life.

Next up is Washington!

We stayed at White River Campground, inside Mount Rainier National Park. This park is a FCFS (FIRST COME FIRST SERVE). We stayed at site C6. This campsite was beautiful. We also spent a day in Seattle checking out Starbucks Reserve, Pike Place Market, and finishing up with a ride on the giant Ferris Wheel. Our time in Washington was short, but memorable. My only complaint about our campsite is that there were no showers. This is why we chose to only stay two days and end our trip here.

We highly suggest you spend some time planning your visits. This was the first trip we didn't create an itinerary. We decided to "go with the flow", which wasn't the best idea. Every camping experience is a lesson! We still had a great time and look forward to seeing more of the Pacific Northwest in the future!

Hello, everyone! We are still passionate about bringing you camping tips, videos, product reviews, and apparel, but our official launch date is going to be pushed back. We recently put our house on the market and we are about to break ground on our new, bigger home that will allow us to have a dedicated area to film videos. We are excited to get back to work! Arkansas Bend Park is located in Lago Vista, Texas about an hour outside of Austin, on the North side of Lake Travis. This park is great for beginner campers. The tent sites are big, with plenty of room for multiple tents. They also offer RV spots for any size RV. We stayed at site 14, which had water, electricity, a firepit and a covered grill. We were also right by a bathroom, which is always a plus for me. They offer individual bathrooms with showers, which were fairly clean and in close range to all campsites. The park also features multiple hiking and biking trails. The only downside to this park, in my opinion, is that there is no on-site store in the event you need firewood, toiletries, etc. The location is fairly remote, so a trip to the store is quite a trek. All in all, we give this campsite a 6 out of 10.
