Hi lovelies! If you’re new here, WELCOME and thank you for being apart of my tribe and more importantly my journey. I am truly honored to see so many new faces and to have been uplifted by my tribe who have ALWAYS been so supportive of my work and commitment to the wedding industry as both an educator and designer. Now that I’ve said allllll of that let’s get all the way real for a moment.
This. S**t. Is. Hard. Do you know that I’ve been in the wedding industry for about 15 years? My journey didn’t begin with florals but y’all I’ve been growing, defining, building, and now blooming since my early 20’s. I actually am the ONLY EDUCATOR to TEACH how to create profitable POP-UP shops for floral designers. I KNOW MY STUFF, nuff said.
It’s hard to give your all to an industry and to feel like you’re still standing on the outside of the building watching your peers build table after table AFTER TABLE where there isn’t a seat for you. There are SO MANY BIPOC educators and designers who’s voices simply aren’t heard because there’s no opportunity for them to reach and access the mainstream wedding industry.
As an educator it should be our DUTY as a collective to EDUCATE and to HOLD THE DOOR OPEN for others to contribute to an ever growing community, one that is representative of ALL OF US. Imagine an industry where we could simply be as beautiful and diverse as our world truly is. We each have the power to make that change as creatives in this industry by using our platforms that are both social and in person.
Simply put I’m not building another table just to take a seat, I’m asking you to so that I can join you 💕. In your conference, at your table, in the conversation, and within an industry that I love so much. Let’s truly be apart of amplifying, uplifting, and empowering the voices that are so rarely heard together. I’d LOVE to see each of us by using this hashtag when sharing amazing designers we SHOULD know about but don’t. 🙌
