Some of our pink oyster fruiting out from one of our medium sized kits. Pink oyster is one of our easiest and favorite mushrooms to grow! Depending on how it’s cooked, it can taste very similar to ham or bacon and makes an excellent addition in our Hungarian mushroom soup recipe (to be shared soon!)

Armillaria nabsnona is a very interesting fungi that has tendrils reminiscent of Cthulhu in both agar and liquid culture. These tendrils are fun to watch grow!

While these technically have edible fruiting bodies (honey mushrooms), we do not recommend these for cultivation, outside of controlled conditions to observe the tendrils, due to its extremely aggressive parasitic nature.

After a slight restructing including adding a huge laminar flow hood to our lab (giving us a third layer of protection in addition to our external 0.1 micron filters and internal air scrubbers), hiring a new lab tech, and cleaning our cultures to ensure 0% contamination, we are about ready for re-launch.

While we had very few bags with contamination due to faulty filter patches (no longer using that brand) and some originally purchased cultures containing contamination, we are going above and beyond to ensure that not a single bag has a chance of contamination for the forseeable future.

It's a long process, but we will be ready to re-launch in about 1-2 months with the cleanest cultures in the industry, guaranteed. How much do we guarantee it? Well if you get a bag originally contaminated from us, we're not just going to replace it, we are going to give you a second one on the house in addition to your replacement.
