Juneteenth is a day commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. On this day in 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas received word that the war was over and that they were free.
Skating Culture has deep roots intertwined with Black Culture and it seems right to take time in our derby to recognize this day.
