In lieu of International coffee day...we bring you this wonderful piece on the history of coffee.
Ah, coffee, the magical elixir that turns "I can't" into "I can do anything!" ☕
Imagine a world without coffee: It'd be like a never-ending Monday morning, where alarm clocks sound like the cries of banshees, and productivity levels are as low as your battery percentage on a busy day.
But wait, here's the plot twist: Coffee was once considered the "devil's brew" in the 16th century. In fact, some clergymen even labeled it a sinful temptation, suggesting that coffeehouses were dens of iniquity. Clearly, they hadn't tasted a good cappuccino.🤭
Coffee has its own language, too. Ordering a "Grande Vanilla Latte with an extra shot, non-fat milk, and caramel drizzle" is like speaking fluent baristese. It's a secret code that unlocks the caffeinated universe.
And speaking of secrets, did you know that goats supposedly discovered coffee? Maybe not necessarily Goats though, but legend has it that an Ethiopian goat herder named Kaldi noticed his goats frolicking with unusual energy after munching on coffee berries. He tried them himself, and voilà, coffee was born. We should thank Kaldi and his adventurous goats for this life-changing discovery!
So, on this International Coffee Day, raise your mug high, celebrate the miracle of coffee, and remember: Life is like a cup of coffee—bitter, sweet, and best enjoyed with friends. Cheers! ☕
