I want to encourage everyone that I know to prepare adequately for our eternal destiny. Jesus Christ loved us so much, and came to this world to show us how much he loved us by willingly giving up his life on a cruel cross of Calvary, and shedding his blood so that each one of us could receive forgiveness of our sins,if we are obedient to the teachings that we find in the New Testament, where Jesus and his apostles taught many people, while they were still living and before they were martyred, except for the apostle John, who I think may have passed away on the isle of Patmos, after he was exiled there, and after he wrote the book of Revelation.

Perhaps a NEAR DEATH experience like CHOKING will make us pray to God on a more regular basis. I am so thankful to God for creating us the way that he did. At just the right time my body starting to automatically make me cough and gasp for air. I was not in the emergency room where the doctors are ready to perform an emergency surgery to make a cut to insert a tube to inject oxygen into the top of the lung or lungs. We all are just less than a minute from passing out and dying if we can’t get air into our lungs.

I almost died last Friday morning as I took the last sip of coffee from my cup. Some of the coffee started going into my lungs instead of my stomach. I started choking and was not able to fully clear my airway for about 6 minutes. I was gasping for air and trying to get as much air into my lungs as possible so that I could cough up any liquid and slowly clear the airway to my lungs. My wife was trying to help me as I was leaning over the kitchen sink. She was hitting the center of my back between the shoulder blades to help me dislodge the liquid. Finally, I started to breathe nearly normally, but I was not able to breathe normally for several more minutes. I only speak of this because we are all so busy doing what we think is important and we have to get things done in a hurry. But God might allow an experience like this to happen to teach us the value of our lives as we prepare to meet Him in the near future. The sand in our hour glass is flowing and one day it will run out and we will enter eternity ready or not.
