Thank you to everyone who came out to sunset at sunset yesterday and showed us support. The winner of the raffle is Debbie J.

We will be at the Wrightsville beach longboard association surf contest October 16th all day- and doing a beach cleanup after. Stop by and say hi,grab some stickers a koozie or other merchandise to help support us so we can continue working to keep the beaches clean.

Yesterday was another success, we didn’t have a large turnout but we appreciate any support we get. This is another 22 pounds putting us a little over 140 pounds total. Thank you to all who came out!

Unfortunately we didn’t get any volunteers this sweep. However my husband and I still picked up for over a hour. We normally collect around 20ish pounds with a group of volunteers. The two of us collected 12.3 pounds this go around. I can only imagine the amount it would’ve been with others helping. There was so much still left, it blows my mind. 80% of the trash under the bridge was and still is cigarette butts. Did you know it takes 18 months to 10 years for a filter to decompose? Hopefully we can have another sweep soon-we do this to try and raise awareness and protect our beautiful beaches.

On a side note, we would love some suggestions/feedback on how to get more people involved?
