A faith based, 501-C3 non-profit organization, FOCUS is dedicated to helping those in need in Harris County, Ga. Our volunteer staff represents many Christian church denominations and we invite you to donate, volunteer and participate! Donations are tax deductible so please feel free to ask for a receipt. y used, quality clothing for the family, household items, books, toys and more, at reasonable low prices. Whether you donate to, or purchase from the Thrift Shop, the proceeds of your generosity are used to fund FOCUS ministries and programs in Harris County. FOOD BANK & EMERGENCY SERVICES:
Additional FOCUS ministries include a food bank, providing monetary assistance for medical bills and prescriptions, helping with utility payments, promoting child abuse prevention, and assisting with home repairs. If you are in need of the food bank or emergency services, please visit the office (the building to the right of the Thrift Shop main entrance) Tuesday or Wednesday between 10am and 2pm and let us know what we can do to help. If you need help with a utility payment or medical bill, please be sure to bring the bill with you. HOME REPAIRS:
If you need a home repair, please contact the FOCUS office. Our home repair ministry provides assistance for the widowed, single parents, elderly, and others who are unable to pay for or do repairs on their own homes. We do not remodel homes, our goal is to keep residents safe, secure, and in a dry environment. Examples of home repair work that FOCUS will consider are building handicapped ramps, window replacement, roof repair, some bathroom repairs, and other small carpentry projects. If you own your home, need repairs, and can provide some portion of the cost or labor, please contact FOCUS for more information
DONATIONS:
Monetary donations to FOCUS can be made by Cash or Check and dropped off at the FOCUS Thrift Shop or Office, or mailed to FOCUS at PO Box 524, Hamilton Ga 31811. You may also donate online through the PayPal link on our website. Food donations for the food bank may be dropped off at the FOCUS Thrift Shop or Office. Watch for updates on our website www.focusfriends.org for specific items that are needed. Also, please consider donating money if you would like to purchase food to be used in the food bank - because we can purchase in low price bulk quantities, we can often stretch your donation farther, allowing us to help more families through your generosity. Gently used clothing, household items, books, toys, etc. may be donated to our Thrift Shop. You may drop donations off at the FOCUS building when the Thrift Shop is open, or use our drop box on the side of the building 24 hours / 7days a week. Eye glasses and cell phones may also be donated at FOCUS to be refurbished for local charities. HOURS:
