Saturday’s author event with Corinna Cook had a lovely turnout! Folks joined us for the book signing and stayed to enjoy some excerpts from “Permafrost is an Archive”. There was great discussion of Corinna’s experience delving into the science of archeology and geology; the history of our northern neighbors; and how maps can be more than just a two dimensional print, but a multi-layered and complex formation that includes the artistic, cultural, and historic developments of a region.

Stay tuned for our next author event later this month, on the 18th from 4:30-6:30p we’ll have John Tronrud over from Skagway promoting his newest book, “A Constantly Changing Tide: A Historical Memoir”. John gives us a look into his experience in Skagway as a longshoreman of over 50 years.
