It's back to school day for us in Frederick County MD. I don't personally have any children going back to school since mine are grown. The girl I tutor is back to school starting middle school today! I hope everyone has a wonderful back to school and has patience this first half week of school. New schedules, new friends, new teachers, new schools maybe, lots of paperwork. Just get on through it and take a deep breath on Saturday!

Many of us had a favorite cafeteria meal (mine was grilled cheese and tomato soup). Many of us had one that we would avoid at all costs. I never much enjoyed the goulash (elbows and sauce) because it was often overcooked and mush.

Welcome to Sundays with Laurie! I am just glad to have survived Saturday with nothing more than a couple power outages. Not everyone was so lucky! There were trees down on house, power lines down, lightning strikes, hail and more.

Welcome to Sundays with Laurie! It's been a while so I thought I'd let you know that I am going to a cabin in northern Pennsylvania for a few days. What's different this time? I'm taking my dog Gizmo with me. It's going to take us about 6 hours and I've not taken her that far by myself. But since we are both getting a wee bit older, I thought we'd have a romp in the woods while we still can!
