Always check your "repairman's" work. This Les Paul had a weaker neck pickup, and it turned out all the grounds were poorly soldered and falling off. There is no excuse nowadays with so many video tutorials to teach people how to solder. I was lucky to take Industrial Electronics at Norwich Tech back in the 70s. Standard guitars are very basic circuits and use basic techniques. I'm always surprised seeing all the basic mistakes that are made.

I don't spray lacquer often anymore but in this case it needed more than a simple touch-up.

Buyer beware. I'm refretting a recent partial refret by a "repairman" with a "good reputation", (on the internet). Be careful out there and ask to see their work if you're not sure. There's no A.S.E. certification for "luthiers".

Tech tip of the month: If your Strat came with a plastic sheet on the pickguard. Take the time to remove what's under the k***s. They get pretty gross. You can cut the excess off with an xacto or remove the nut. This one had the pots replaced yet they left the plastic. Maybe they felt it was vintage/original!?!
