Productive day, got 5 green BSG BDU tops completed over the last 24 hours. Only stabbed myself a dozen times (a lot of 2" needles to pin the shoulder suede panels into place for sewing. Blood was offered to the propping gods for a successful day!

Greetings everyone!

A heads up for those who've tried messaging us on FB for the last few months and haven't revived a response yet.

Apparently out of the blue, FB is forcing us to use some sort of Meta-business suite to access our messages... Instead of the way it's worked for years... Which is pretty dumb! And because of this, we can't access them or respond to them at this time. We can log into FB like normal, we just can't access the messaging section.

Just a heads up, Dan finished a bunch of orders and was finally able to make it to the post office! If your order has shipped, you _should_ have gotten an email with tracking. If you did NOT get tracking info, please log into your account and check. The tracking info is listed on your order information!

As far as new items, we are offering the NF "Space Force" series uniforms, and Dan just started making Uniforms "For All Mankind."

The LONG unavailable Jayne "Boo" pistol from firefly is available again after... 5 years? That mold was a tough one to remaster, but they should be available again. Outstanding orders for those will be shipped first.

Some good news, our Prop Master Jesse DeGraff was feeling well enough (and I'm sure pestered enough) to ship me a box of props late last week. Because I work for a major hospital I have been pulling long hours doing my regular day job supporting those front line patient facing healthcare professionals. So I only get a couple to a few hours a night to work on costumes and props. We lost our outside seamstress when her business folded due to the pandemic, so sewing projects like the SGA jackets are taking way longer then they should. I usually try to alternate weeks between props and costumes, so this week is props. I'm working on 5 finished Mal pistols for back orders and I should be shipping them out this Friday or Saturday. Finished the main painting and assembly of everything but the grip. Touch up, install the grips and then seal the props with s few coats of clear coat to protect the paint job. Then a day to fully dry before packaging and shipping. So thank you for your business and patience with us in these trying times. Stay safe, wear a mask or two, get vaccinated and social distance. From a member of the healthcare industry, we dont want to see you at the hospital. From fan community members, we want you all to be around when it's safe to go to conventions again.

HOGAN'S HEROES.

Some of you might have heard about Michael Hogan's recent medical problem and the Go Fund Me that was set up to help with some of his medical expenses, home alterations / accomodations, and such. Although they might reach their goal soon, we are going to continue to raise money to help him out since these type of expenses are on-going.

Michael Hogan (Colonel Saul Tigh in the 2007 Battlestar Galactica Series) has been a fantastic supporter of the BSG Fandom, has always been a gracious guest, and a wonderful person. He was our Hero and now we can return the favor when he need support, we can be Hogan's Heroes.

The idea of Hogan's Heroes started about a decade ago when our fan group SciFiHero invited Michael Hogan to be our guest for our annual club dinner at DragonCon. Despite being told he could not attend our club dinner by DragonCon itself (that is a long story there) he still came to our dinner because we fans asked him too. So we create the Hogan's Heroes logo (artwork by Phil Hsuen, concept by Dean Newbury, Russ Krook and Daniel Kim).

So now Alchemy Arms is offering Hogan's Heroes BSG style Dog Tags, as individual tags and as a combo set. On the front has the Hogan's Heroes logo. On Tag 1: "SO SAY WE SAUL" on the back. On Tag 2: "GAIUS FRAKKIN' BALTAR!" on the back. The Combo will have both tags on a chain.

$5.00 USD will be donated to the Michael Hogan Go Fund Me campaign for each Hogan's Heroes tag sold (so the Combo set will contribute $10.00 USD).

These tags are in the process of being made for us by Joe Beaudion of SellGreek.

Normally we would be at DragonCon over Labor Day Weekend, but this year it wasn't happening, but we miss all of our friends and customers we see at DragonCon each year very much. So I'm posting up pictures from previous DragonCons that Alchemy Arms have vended at.

I am sorry to announce that Alchemy Arms will not be at DragonCon (2020) this year.

The decision not to attend DragonCon 2020 is related to the COVID-19 situation, but not because we are afraid of getting infected by the COVID-19 virus. I have 3 Economic reasons and 2 Personal/Health reasons for not going to DragonCon 2020.

ECONOMIC REASONS:
Last DragonCon was a really bad one for Alchemy Arms (we did not show a profit nor cover our costs for the convention) and we cannot afford to have another bad DragonCon financially since normally it is our most profitable convention for the year.

1) Because of the COVID-19 fears, large gatherings such as Conventions (and DragonCon is freaking big) attendance is expected to be significantly lower than normal. So, it is far less likely that we will have a profitable DragonCon.

2) We are in an unusually fortunate situation where we can withdraw from being a DragonCon vendor this year without losing our vendor fee and any hotel reservation fees/costs. But we do run the risks of not being able to get back into DragonCon next year, but we hope to be back then and be in a better position to do well there.

3) Because of concerns about the well-being of our Prop Maker, we don't want to stress him to produce massive amounts of props for DragonCon like we normally do. We want him to get healthy. So we were not expecting to have a large offering of props in numbers and variety this year.

PERSONAL REASONS:
1) Dan has gotten "Con Crud" pretty much after every DragonCon that he can remember, which normally isn't as much as a concern, but Dan's wife has Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy and when she gets sick it tends to be far worse and last longer than normal so he rather not take a chance on exposing her to something unnecessarily or for her potentially dangerous.

2) Dan work for a Major Regional Hospital (but not in direct patient contact) and right now if one of our employees get sick with anything, we are supposed to report it to the hospital and stay home for at least 2-weeks. Dan can work from home, but cannot come into work. They strongly suggest that employees do not attend large gatherings if they can be avoided until there is a vaccination for this current virus.

We will miss all the fun things we usually do at DragonCon including seeing and spending time with friends and "family" at DragonCon as we have been doing over a decade now. We will miss being able to meet, talk and help our customers out in person like we normally do as well.

Again, this decision was not made lightly and it seems like the best thing to do in for the above reasons.

This is Russ with Alchemy Arms. We're in the "where's my stuff season" and I just wanted to give everyone a status update that's long overdue.

After Dragoncon, our prop master Jesse was diagnosed with Cancer. He's currently undergoing treatment and is hoping for the best. As such, he's not in production mode (the treatment is kicking his butt) so there will be delays until he's feeling well enough to get back into the workshop.

Dan's also been sick, but with something like bronchitis, so he hasn't been working on BDU sets that some of you are expecting. We're in the process of disabling some items on the web site until such time as production can resume. We may issue refunds for certain items if were unable to supply them in the near future. We'll update add more is known.

We have NOT forgotten orders. You WILL receive your order items as they become available. I'm attempting to contact those who have emailed or messaged us on Facebook, it's just taking time. We DO read every email, and try to respond as we have information to do so.

Hopefully things stabilize soon, and we wish Jesse a speedy recovery!
