As we wrap up another Pine Ridge Free Ice Cream Week, I’m reminded why this tradition means so much to our family.

When we started this tradition in 2012, it wasn’t about selling ice cream. It was about giving back to a school and community that had given so much to us.

Three of our daughters attended Pine Ridge Elementary. This week was especially meaningful because our Smoothie Cart was operated by Pine Ridge alumni—our daughters—serving today’s Pine Ridge students and families. Watching former Pine Ridge students serve the next generation of Pine Ridge students was a true full-circle moment.

Over the years, Jam’nBean has grown into a coffee roaster, ice cream destination, mobile latte cart catering company, and national online brand shipping coffee, K-Cups, and Michigan maple syrup across the country. But at our core, we’re still a local family business that believes in investing in the community that helped us grow.

Thank you to the Pine Ridge families, teachers, staff, firefighters, and volunteers who made this week so special. Seeing hundreds of families enjoying free ice cream, face painting, the fire truck, and time together reminded us why community matters.

Thank you for being part of our story.

When we started this tradition back in 2012, it wasn’t about selling ice cream. It was about giving back to a school and community that had given so much to us.
