HotBait info:
Here is something interesting for you. On the left is our prototypes we handed last season. On the right is the finished product. The Hotbait took roughly 15 design modifications to get the action right, but once we did it was hard to keep quiet about it.
The Hotbait mini is designed, will need a bit more testing as it's slightly different for the correct action. We hope to have it available Mid July.
The regular Hotbait is weighted, It will not float. It has an M6 set screw to adjust ballast. We put in roughly 10-15 Zinc Plated steel berrings as its far more affordable than lead. If you want it to dive more from the weight alone you can remove the screw, and add in lead bird shot and, replacing the screw afterwards. This allows you the angler to further tune the Hotbait for your liking. The SwimThin is also setup that way, but does not have an as large ballast chamber.
Lastly, some anglers, like us here at BAM like to troll fast. Freshwater or saltwater the Hotbait should be able to maintain action upwards of 10mph. We do reccomend anything over 7mph to swap the treble out for a single hook for better high speed stability. While most of the guys here around the great lakes don't generally go over 4-5mph, Many saltwater anglers targeting fish bigger than kings troll much faster than we do here.
With it being a new design for the Great Lakes we don't have much technical data like dive depth available for it yet but will work towards achieving that this season.
