Pecan is the state tree of Texas. Besides producing delicious nuts, these trees also have some beautiful wood. I made this four-track cribbage board from pecan and finished it with boiled linseed oil. A well in the board easily store twelve pegs.

Mesquite is ubiquitous in Texas. This abundant (some might say "invasive") tree has some beautiful and hardy lumber, as demonstrated by this four-track cribbage board. I finished the wood with a natural boiled linseed oil finish. Shotgun shell head well holds twelve rustic pegs for easy storage.

Four-track cribbage board made by hand from beautiful and aromatic Texas cedar (ashe juniper). I was blown away by the amazing colors and patterns hidden in the wood. I filled the voids in the wood with a red epoxy and finished it with a boiled linseed oil for a natural and durable finish. A small well capped with the brass head from a 12-gauge shotgun shell holds twelve rustic pegs for easy storage.
