Corn is getting to the point where it's time to make sidedress and second-pass herbicide decisions. What’s making things tricky right now are the 3-inch waterhemp plants starting to pop up and the wet field conditions. Before you spray, take a good look at your sidedress setup. Knife-style bars and some coulter systems can move a lot of soil, which might wash away any residual herbicide you’ve applied. Keep a close eye on waterhemp height, and if it’s getting away from you, think about adding Tough 5EC or a dicamba product like DiFlexx or Status to strengthen your second pass.
