Me made May birthday edition!
Today is my beloved daughter, birthday so it feels fitting to share her first birthday outfit that I appliquéd and sewed for her in 1996. A wise seamstress advised me to stitch names and dates to give a history of meaningful outfits. I’m so glad I listened and it brought me such joy to add to it for Harper’s first birthday a few weeks ago. When I sewed this dress, I never dreamed of the gift of seeing Mattie’s daughter wear her birthday dress someday! Abundantly blessings for sure!

Me Made May
It is an honor to love your friend’s child and share the big and small moments of life together! It’s an even bigger honor when you get to create something that’s a part of her wedding day. And the biggest of all when it involves remaking a sentimental designer wedding gown into the going away outfit.
you were the most gorgeous bride! Thank you for trusting me with this project! It was a dream!
Cheers to you & for ever!

Me Made May Day 25. This pattern is from . naughton. It was super fast and easy, and I love how it turned out. This quilt top has been challenging because of its age. The squares are made from feed sacks and several have needed numerous repairs, but it’s totally worth it!

I found these beautiful needlepoint pillowcases at an antique store in Rockport, TX two years ago. I thought they were so gorgeous and the shop owner shared that they had been made by a Ukrainian woman. She had spent several hours creating these works of art. Like so many linens I buy, I have to sit with them for a while before I decide what I want to make. I knew I wanted more depth at the top of the shirt to balance what was going to be at the bottom of the shirt. I decided to add pintucks using a twin needle. Once again I used McCalls pattern M7742. For a little more interest on the sleeves I added some purple rick rack. I love the final product!
