Teach them to ride! Look, this car dependency problem isn't going to be fixed by shoving your whole family in a minivan to go see Grandma and Grandpa down the street and around the corner. Ride as a family. Group rides are safer than solo rides anyways.

Theirs a difference between holding up traffic and traffic being slowed down. Holding up traffic means it's not moving at all, or moving at 5mph max. Traffic being slowed down to 20 or 30 mph when the speed limit is set at 35 mph is still fine, because that word limit means you can go slower, and that you as a driver should expect slow moving vehicles like bikes, scooters, and skateboards and to share the street with them.

What else could you use gas money on? If you didn't have to pay insurance on your vehicle every month or quarter, could you live in a nicer place? An entire world opens up when you get rid of car dependency.

Speed bumps are a good thing, there's just not enough of them. They should be at every intersection and parking lot entrance. They're the best incentive for to slow down their tanks because otherwise all the garbage they have in their back seats shuffles around, thus saving a persons life who decided they weren't too lazy to walk.

Anyway, the potential solution is to let us in the lobby for online order pickup or open the drive-thru for everyone else, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and pedestrians.
