I’ve been having a rough week, but I’ll be damned if I wasn’t outside in the rain for the last 40 minutes smiling like a fool over these girls 🐝

It’s pretty warm today so I went to check on the 2 hives at our place. One is dead, but this one is holding strong ❤️ I cleared the dead bees away from the bottom entrance to make sure there is appropriate ventilation, and also bc the growing pile of the dead holds a lot of moisture. Moisture + winter = beecicles 🥶

I’ll be able to get down to my other two hives next week. Hopefully they’re still kicking, but they were very small & slow colonies over the summer so I’m not sure what to expect from them.
